Edward was a curiosity...
On the 1939 Register he is "Edward M". The marriage simply says "Edward Wickson", and the probate "Edward Faulkner Wickson" and birth his "Faulkner Wickson" is reversed. Starting with what we know (the death) in March 1960 and the burial 4 days later. Both use "Edward Wickson". We also know he is father of Phyllis & Tony. There are only 2 Wicksons marrying a Giles, but why Giles. If we search for his daughter "Phyllis Wickson" after marrying age (let's use 18 and we get min of 1909). There are 4 contenders but primarily Pickett or Giles. If we search for all children of Wickson+Pickett we don't see a "Tony"/"Anthony". Whereas Wickson+Giles gives Phyllis & Anthony. Working back to a marriage of Wickson to Giles gives the above marriage. The burial mentions "Hurst Lane Cumnor" as does probate although that gives the Faulkner middle name. It's also the correct probate as it refers to Florence. 1939 matches on date although 1 year out as often seems to happen with "Florence" and "Anthony" with expected ages. His WWI roll has "Edward Faulkner Wickson", with same S/S/Corporal as the marriage. From the marriage, he and his father have the surname "Wickson". But look for a marriage of Edward's parents (Harry Wickson vs. ?) and you find Harry Wickson married Catherine Faulkner in 1893 which is after Edward's birth. So presumably his mother registered him under FAULKNER with his fathers surname as a middle name.
